Looking, touching, dreaming…..a creative writing workshop inspired by stone and sculpture.

Carving Workshop with Jason Mulligan & Guy Stevens

A one day workshop exploring the process of direct stone carving. Guy Stevens MRBS & Jason Mulligan MRBS will teach you an approach used within their own practice, whereby the choice of stone block, the use of hammer and chisel and the free carving approach dictate the final form, rather than working to a model. AT The Bus – 3rd Charity of the week

During Week 3 AT The Bus was to be in residence. This is a new charity, offering a school-based programme of art as therapy to support the education, health and wellbeing of children and young people aged 7-18 in Oxfordshire. This therapy will take place in a purposely designed therapeutic studio space in a double-decker bus. Exploring structure in the garden landscape with Sarah Spackman RBA

This one day workshop will look at finding the structure within the picture that you have chosen to paint. We will look at the different images found in the garden and sculptural landscape, and see how we can simplify the different areas of our painting to maintain the colour relationships between the light and shadow. Jantien stone necklace workshop

Open afternoon at the Potting Shed – Sat 15 August, 1-5pm

In celebration of our much-missed friend, Claire Turnbull, Fiona Cullinane is opening the Potting Shed cafe for one afternoon, for afternoon tea with cakes and scones. Cafe customers will also be able to wander around the gardens of Asthall Manor, which they may be invited to do in order to enable social distancing at the cafe. No booking necessary, but please donate to Pancreatic Cancer UK. Payment by cash or card will also be accepted on the day.
