Summer open month 2024
\13th June 2024
Our summer open month was held between 13th June and 13th July Thursdays to Saturdays.
We had a variety of activities including birdsong walks, fern talks, flower pressing, hedgehogs and garden tours. Our guest events included a lunchtime concert string duet, a celebration of the wonderful River Windrush (Love our River day) and a conversation in the Ballroom between Caroline Lucas and Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall.
People came along and wandered around our wildflower-fringed lawns, secret lake and woodland paths, as well as enjoying our exuberant borders, magnificent trees and, of course, the fabulous roses that climb up the manor walls and scramble over the orchard.
We worked with four charities, and entry was by a donation. Our four chosen charities this year were: Wychwood Forest Trust, Refugee Resource, Burford Environment Action Group (Beagles) and Kissing it Better.
