Lie Down and Listen – A Quiet Arbour

5th September

3pm- Afternoon Delight
6pm- Evening Sunset

“There is the music of heaven in all things” Hildegard Von Bingen

Join Christina McMaster for a peaceful and inspiring afternoon in a deeply calming and soul restoring experience of sound, baroque music, poetry and nature.

You’ll be guided through the beautiful gardens as you listen to the sounds of nature and of stillness. This journey, curated by John Woollcombe, will take you to a place of connection and healing for body, mind and soul.

You’ll not only experience beauty by poets such as John Keats, Wendell Berry, Satish Kumar or Hildegard Von Bingen in nature’s surroundings, but also discover sweet sounds of music as the leading Lute and Theorbo player Toby Carr will share music by Renaissance and Baroque composers.

You’ll discover new perspectives and different vantage points across the gardens; the hut in the wood, the bridge with expansive valley views, a Norman church – at these places we’ll pause for reflection and deep listening to nature and poetry, perhaps here you’ll become quiet enough to hear your inner wisdom.

This experience will culminate in the Jacobean Ballroom, where guests are welcomed to lie down on cushions and absorb the sounds of Tibetan bowls, crystal bowls and piano played by Christina McMaster.

Herbal Teas and refreshments will be served afterwards.

This Special Summer experience will leave you feeling rejuvenated mentally, emotionally and spiritually inspired by mother nature. Book your space here
