Seeds, Stones and soup
7th February 2026 - 11:00 am - 3:00 pm
Join us in the beautiful St Nicholas Church for a seed swap with a difference!
There will, in fact, be seed, soup and apotropaics – the ancient protective symbols that hide in plain sight on the stones of many of our churches.
Local troublemaker Steve Tomlin will walk you around the symbols found in Asthall’s St Nicholas Church, while Tim Mitchell of Asthall Manor kitchen garden will talk you through the seed swap. And there will be soup!
If you have spare seed, come and swap it.
If you don’t, please come anyway and take some seed for free.
Learn all about the ancient art of seed saving.
Have a go at the fun and strangely satisfying process of saving seed – thresh, winnow, sieve and sort.
Kids are great at it!
No need to book, just turn up and we will see you there.
